Dickens in Dundee

So every year since we moved to C-ville, Buzz and I have been going to Dickens in Dundee. It's a fun, holiday weekend in downtown Dundee. On Friday night they have tree-lighting ceremonies and "living windows" (people dress old school and do stuff in the shop windows - like make cookies). Usually we only attend that but since we were at Cesar Millan Friday night, we decided to check out Saturday's festivities.
We started with a parade at 10 am
It was like the arctic out there. But still very crowded. I love this because it feels like you live in a small town. Brrr.
There's Santa waving behind Ella.

There was a petting zoo in the park. Notice that isn't Otis. Otis isn't allowed to come to Dickens in Dundee anymore because, and I quote, "Everyone is touching him. I don't like it," complained Buzz. One year he actually left me there alone to drive Otis home. Stink, stank, stunk.
They had a best tree contest. This purple number gets my vote. The local churches had bake sales, craft fairs and hot lunches. You could also make a gingerbread house. The local bed and breakfast had a live reading of, "The Night Before Christmas." Later, we stopped for breakfast because Buzz didn't want to eat any church lady food. This will be so much fun next year when Ella can enjoy it too.
