So basically she is tall and skinny...just like her parents - wink, wink! Boy has this latest month brought changes. She is finally looking like one of the big kids - not just a little slump of a baby.
I'll admit it, she had her first injury on BUZZ's watch. She slumped forward and hit her chin on a toy and it caused a scab to form. That was so much worse than when she rolled off our bed and landed on her side and I thought she broke her arm, lost consciousness, was scarred for life, would go blind, never forgive me... on MY watch. Yep, my watch. I called the pediatrician to report my negligence and waited for DCFS to show. In case you're wondering, I was right there and she rolled so fast that I couldn't get her in time.
Her personality continues to develop. She is not easily upset or frightened. She is also easy to talk out of being upset.
Now I know this sounds lame but she brings a little bit of joy everywhere she goes. Especially at my Grandma's rehab center. Gram was in for six weeks and we visited about two times per week. Everyone there adored her. She was like a little celebrity.
She likes to do things by herself already! Just kidding.
We can just barely get a barrette in her hair finally.
Her daddy continues to crack her up.
I on the other hand, put her to sleep!
Sadly, we've had to pack away some of the baby items. The swing, bouncy chair, playmat and Bumbo chair are all in the attic.
She's attempting to feed herself.
She has tried all kinds of people food recently including avocados, bananas, bread, pasta, corn, blueberries, rice, celery, asparagus, mashed potatoes, frozen yogurt and Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza (thanks, or no thanks to Jeanie on the pizza!).
She has 1.5 teeth. The other bottom tooth has sprouted. With that came her first cold. Her nose has been running for almost two weeks. We've had to use that damn booger snatcher 10 times a day.
Since I can't put her in a bouncy anymore when I shower, she goes in the playpen now. She doesn't mind it yet.
She has been getting up from a lying position for a few weeks now so when we go into her room in the morning, she is sitting there.
She wreaks havoc at the pediatrician's office. She is no longer content to watch the world go by. She is a part of it now.
Although this shouldn't count for this post because it's past the 20th, we have big news from today... she crawled! She's not crawling, but she did crawl a few feet. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Also, after her nap she was standing in her crib. OMG.
