Bedding option for girls

I know a few of you have been to the site, Etsy. It's where people make and sell their own crafts/creations/art. If you haven't been you really should. Anyway, there is a woman on there that does custom bedding so I found some fabrics I liked and she came up with this. I would do white furniture with this. Here's the thing, It's $229 for a rag quilt or traditional patchwork style quilt approx. 35 inches x 51 inches, standard size four sided 4 piece crib bumpers(that can be Boutique style stuffed and fluffy, or traditional style), 1 fitted crib sheet(the best fitting crib sheet you will ever have, I promise!!), and a standard crib dust-ruffle(yours can be gathered or straight, your choice!).

So spill it ladies, can I get it cheaper elsewhere? What about those Amish people? Help a sister out...

Dooce stole my photo!

http://www.dooce.com/2008/11/19/internet-im-craving-doritos
Yes, I'll admit that her picture of Chuck is much more skillfully taken than mine of Otis, but isn't that a coincidence? I think she reads MY blog. If you know who Dooce is, this makes sense but if you don't just disregard this post...

The soon to be baby's room

I don't think anyone one realizes how much we use our second bedroom. There is a TV, full bed and computer. Most nights one of us is on the computer while the other one is on the bed with the dogs. The bed is my bed from home and is more comfortable than any bed I've ever slept in. Not to mention, the dogs are allowed on this bed and they are not allowed on any other furniture. We have pictures like these dating back to when we moved into the house. Soon we'll have to give the bed to my mom to store and move the computer to the basement. It will never be the same. Although I'm dying for this baby, I am sad for the changes in the household.

You can laugh all you want but I don't know what my poor dogs will do when the baby comes along. Otis sits on the bed all day and watches the neighborhood. Neighbors even look for him and wave to him. Sometimes when we come home at night we see his face in the window. He loves it there.

Colton Arthur Ludwig

On Sunday, Buzz and I had a chance to meet my cousin Jen's new baby. His name is Colton and he was born on November 3rd. He is such a cutie-pie and I suspect him and our baby will be the best of friends. Although, on second thought, this kid lives in Sugar Grove and boy was that a long drive!

Oral Sex Kills!

While perusing my lovely, "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book from the DiMarias I found a very small blurb titled, Oral Sex. A lot of this book is written in question/answer format. This is what I found:

"I've heard that oral sex is dangerous during pregnancy. Is this true?"

Cunnilingus (oral stimulation of the female genitalia) is safe throughout pregnancy as long as your partner is careful not to blow any air into your vagina. Doing this could force air into your bloodstream and cause an embolism, which could obstruct a blood vessel and could prove deadly to both mother and baby.

It just ends there. No mention of how much air is required to cause this embolism. I mean typically people don't blow into vaginas but there is heavy breathing, right? Have I crossed the line with this post. If so, I"m sure my mother will inform me.

Greta's Revenge

Greta, the wonder dog, was at the vet once again last week. She had some large nodules develop along her spay scar. The vets said it was fine just to keep an eye on them. So we go to the Stanczak wedding Saturday night and come home to find that she has chewed out one of the nodules and the other is swollen and purple. Deesgusting! So now she's on more pills, I have to clean the wound once a day, and she has to wear a cone for two weeks in her crate.

It seems that she is pissed at us...Thursday evening around 5:30 I decided to take a little nap. I was laying with Otis in the spare bedroom and Greta was on the floor chewing a bone. Buzz comes home around 6 and finds that Greta has left her wrath all over the basement!

She killed a couple pillows and put a hole in a blanket.
She ate the couch. The couch that my mom still likes to tell me how much she paid for it cuz it was so darn expensive.
Buzz is especially mad because he specifically told me to close the basement door the day before. I thought it was closed but this dog has mad skills...

The only saving grace is that it's the basement couch. We can toss a throw over that section and call it a day. For some reason when our dogs destroy things, I don't freak out. I hope this also applies to my future children.

The Chack sperm strikes again!

The Chacks are preggers with baby number 2. Let me remind you that their current child, Vivian, is just over 5 months old. Those crazy kids. Congratulations.

So much for hearing the heartbeat

We are just not meant to hear this child's heartbeat. On Saturday we had to reschedule our appointment because I am pregnant and mindless and thought the appointment was thirty minutes later than it actually was. Fast forward to today: We have an appointment after work. The chick warns us that she may not be able to find the heartbeat right away so don't panic. Murphy's Law - she never does find the heartbeat. So, they send us to another room and we get to have an extra ultrasound (not vaginal - thank god). We still didn't get to hear the heartbeat but it's at 161. Our ultrasound tech doesn't believe all that high heartbeat means a girl. She thinks it was high cuz I was up and about moving around. I think we were both pretty amazed at how much the baby has changed since 8 weeks.

Also I had to have 9 vials of blood drawn for all of the tests they need to run. The phlebotomist was very good-looking and Buzz did not appreciate me telling him that. He said that he was weird because he didn't wear socks with his shoes. Only Buzz notices something like that.

My nephews on Hallowen

Halloween is kind of a big deal for my sister. She does a crazy yard display every year and is now having multiple Halloween parties. This is part of her yard. My sister was Amy Winehouse and her husband was a proctologist. She won best costume at her own party!

I have such handsome little nephews but for some reason they insist on scary, horrible costumes for Halloween. Except for Blake, the french fries.

Oh yeah, my dad is 60.

On October 30th, my dad turned 60 years old. He DID NOT want a party. My mom had us and her sister's family over for dinner. My sister, brother and I bought him a GPS. He has giant fingers and I don't know how he is going to use this thing.

The bib says, "I Love My Grandpa."

My mom made delicious pumpkin flavored cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Apparently she forgot that pumpkins are typically orange.

The family sans the Texans.

As usual, Otis had one too many beers and passed out on the couch.

Greta hid in my brother's room for most of the evening plotting her next attack...
