St. Louis, Day 3

On our last day we headed over to the St. Louis children's museum, The Magic House to meet the Chacks.

The kids were all so busy that this is the one shot I could grab of the four of them together.

Doesn't George look like he's doing some major shit-talking?

Ella would not get out of this truck.

We drove home straight after the children's museum and Ella was so tired that she slept the first 3 hours. She probably would have kept sleeping but I had to stop for gas. For the next 2 hours, I handed her back chicken mcnuggets (not proud) as she watched Snow White. She was fantastic the whole way home.

St. Louis Days 1 & 2

Ella and I finally made the trek down to St. Louis to visit the Parks and the Chacks. We left last Thursday after our morning toddler gym class. Ella was a rock star in the car thanks to a nap, some books and the St. Leger's portable DVD player. She watched Snow White since that's the only cartoon I own. Here she is at Bob Evans where we stopped for lunch. That was the first time I went out to eat with just Ella and it was kind of fun. We stayed with the Parks and Raegan and Ella took to each other right away. Ella loved all of her toys and Raegan was super patient with Ella and liked helping her.
Kellie was pretty proud because she got Ella to take a few TINY sips of milk from one of their sippy cups but as you can see here, the victory was short-lived.
Here's Ella trying to relive her babyhood...
Raegan is very polite and whenever I would ask her if I could take her picture she would reply, "No thank you."
The next morning we headed to the park with the Parks!

Sadly, I only have a few pics of baby Morgan from the park. She is such a sweet, happy baby who just goes with the flow.
After lunch we stopped at Von Mauer.

That night we had dinner at the Chacks and the kids went to bed early so I didn't get any pics of the Chack kids. When we got back to Kellie's house, Raegan helped Ella with her coat. As my sister likes to say, Ella looks like she was rode hard and put away wet. It was about ten at night in these pics.

Colton's Second Birthday Party

A couple of Sundays ago we headed out to Sugar Grove to celebrate Ella's second cousin or first cousin once removed or whoever's birthday. We just call them cousins. It's so fun to watch these two interact now. My two cousins finally got their wish and made me a brunette...just like them ;)
Ella enjoyed all the cheesy casseroles and the rogue M&M my mother slipped her!!!
Colton opened tons of cool presents.
Ella was mentally preparing her Christmas list the whole time!
Check out Colton's new state of the art kitchen from his grandparents!
His custom truck to match his daddy's...
Ella really loved joyriding with Colton.

Ella was given Colton's old kitchen to take home and boy does she love it. Here she is trying it out that very night...

Check out the big girl feeding herself!

Operation sippy cup

It's no secret. Ella has been rocking a bottle in the morning and at night since she turned about a year old -when I stopped nursing. Yes, I know that's when you're supposed to lose the bottle but she wouldn't take milk from a sippy cup. She'd drink it and spit it out everywhere so it was easier to give her the bottle. She takes a sippy cup for water no problem but she does not think that milk belongs in there. So we decided it's time to lose the bottle for good. The pediatrician advised that it could take over a week for her to drink milk again and this is fine as long as she is getting other dairy. I'd love to say that we handed Ella a sippy of milk and she smiled, said thanks and drank it up. Then some pigs went flying by. This is not what happened. What happened is the chaos that you see below:
She won't take it under any circumstances, any time of the day, for the last three days! She throws her hand up and says, "no, no, no!" And when it's offered in the morning when she's expecting a bottle, she throws a tantrum for five minutes upon even seeing the sippy cup. But we are staying strong and waiting for her to crack...

Halloween 2010

Halloween morning Ella woke up still nursing a fever. We were going to Trick or Treat with Colton but decided to skip that due to her fever - though my sister continues to give me shit about that!
We dressed our little Ella-Phant and headed to Grandma Jeanie's house for a little visit. Ella had a great time scaring everyone with a new toy. Especially Uncle Eric.
Next we headed to my parents' house to celebrate my dad's birthday.
The elephant was fading fast.

She was mad that she had to come inside.
Is that the cutest little Dracula you've ever seen?

Why do kids like to play on the stairs?

Everyone had a shot of Jekyll and Hyde booze.
But the little ones preferred beer.
