A Case of Whodunnit.

My, what's that on the staircase? It looks like, no it couldn't be... ...it is! Poop!
Which one of you sleazes is guilty? We may never know.

Goebbert's Pumpkin Farm

Buzz and I have been going to the pumpkin farm for the last few years with our friends who have kids, before that we went just the two of us, and before that we went as children. Finally, we have a child of our own to bring to the pumpkin farm...and what a cute one she is. If you can believe it the Refviks and the St. Legers were the first ones to arrive! Mandy and I both read an article about being late and have been working to improve in this area. It doesn't always work but that day it did. We had about half an hour to kill before anyone else came so we started on the pics.
It's funny that these two are almost a year apart but by next year they'll look about the same age.

Here are all of the kids. What a joke! I had about 25 pics of them on my camera and this is the only pic where you can see parts of every child's face. We totally forgot to get a big group shot with the parents. Darn it!

BTW, it was rainy and chilly when we got there so we got really great parking and were able to get picnic tables without a problem. But we didn't spend much time outside.

Most of us were smart and got our pumpkins beforehand at a much cheaper price but Nick St. Leger feels that buying a pumpkin at the farm is part of the experience - he did not however let his daughter choose one.
We had everyone back to our house that night and Keaton brought her bee costume so we could get a few pics. How cute are these two? Adriana had her chance to join the hive but her mom had her heart set on Tinkerbell. I think next year they should be the three amigos or Charlie's Angels! Or maybe Devin could be Robert Palmer and they could be the back up dancers...the possibilities are endless.

I'm 5 months old!

And here I thought I didn't have that many pics to post from this month. I am out of control with the camera! This past month, Ella had her first airplane ride to Texas. I have no pics from the plane cuz Buzz convinced me not to bring my camera. Bummer. This is also the month that Ella started wearing things on her head: Onesies
Dad's jockstrap - gross, but funny (and clean)

She wants to be standing all the time.
I think in this pic she really looks like Buzz as a baby (light eyes, round face, rosy red cheeks).
This whole series below are some of my favorites. The lighting was good and we didn't use a flash.

Kerry: here is proof that we carved the pumpkins...

Her hands continue to be one of the most interesting things to look at.

She loves her some leg warmers - I'm addicted!
We tried watching baby TV. She really liked it.

She is trying to sit up from a laying position. She keeps lifting her head off of the ground. She continues to discover her voice and is quite loud. We (Buzz) are starting to try to put her to bed earlier. She is still so happy and a pleasure to be with every day. Until next month...

Otis Van Nostrand and the playdate

I couldn't run from it anymore; it was my turn to have the play date at my house. I wanted to have it on a Friday so my cousin could come. It only ended up being Colton, Peyton and Ella.
The reason I was dreading having it at my house is because Otis is a handful - and by handful, I mean armful! I knew I needed to lock him up because there was a table full of food and there were young children that didn't want to be licked to the ground. So I put him and Greta in our bedroom. Within seconds he is barking, then he is banging against the door. I finally go to check because I hear scratching and sure enough, he has done this to the carpet: Do you see that seam? Oh that was already there from the last time he tore back the carpet. It has happened multiple times and in various spots. So next I put them on the deck. It was damp but not rainy. Otis jumps at the screen repeatedly and continues to bark. I decide to try the basement...but when I let them inside, Greta has muddy paw prints from a potted plant outside (thanks Jess for cleaning that). SO, I finally get them in the basement and they keep coming up because the door won't stay closed when Greta pummels her body into it. So I block off the upstairs with a long mirror and you can see below how Otis felt about that.
Later, I let the jerk down for some reason or another and he grabs an entire piece of pizza off the kitchen table and eats it! Unbelievable. Ella had a good laugh though. He finally falls asleep under the jumperoo in the loft. At least it won't be my turn to host again for a bit!

The Art of Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved our $1.99 Aldi pumpkins. What a steal! Ella joined us at the table.

Buzz was a nervous nelly about putting her hand in the pumpkin seeds but I reassured him. Ella seemed to enjoy it.

Buzz saw a design like this online and free handed it. I can't believe how great it turned out. It didn't take him that long either!
Mine on the other hand took hours. I had picked up one of those pumpkin carving design books with the stencils on clearance last year and wanted to try it out. I think I picked the hardest design. It was a bitch to do but looks pretty bad ass.
Here is the sad part. I put them outside and I checked on them tonight. The designs are already starting to wilt. I actually rubbed them with Vaseline to try to buy a few more days. All that work...
